We reported on Tuesday that a Final Fantasy themed attraction is going to feature at Universal Studios Japan early 2018. Details have just been released from the park and it seems like the ride will be utilising VR technology. Named the 'Final Fantasy XR Ride', the mixed VR/ Roller Coaster will take guests on a journey through the multiple worlds of the franchise. Riders will be able to board airships and encounter characters from the video game series along the way. Square Enix, the developers behind the popular franchise, employed their in-house CG team 'Visual Works' to produce graphics for the ride.
Universal Studios Japan had previously used its XR ride for attractions based on Evangelion and Japanese pop star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Attendants donned VR headsets which gave them an amazing 360-degree experience while the ride manoeuvred in tandem with the visuals.
