God of War Limited Edition PS4 Pro Announced

A God of War Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle was announced by PlayStation this week to launch April 20th, 2018.

The bundle is set to include a copy of the new God of War Day One Edition, a Leviathan Grey 1TB PlayStation 4 Pro inspired by Kratos' Axe and a matching Dualshock 4 wireless controller branded by in-game blacksmiths, the Huldra Brothers. The design of the limited edition console and controller was proudly created in close collaboration with Santa Monica Studio (owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment), aiming to please God of War fans.

Shannon Studstill, Head of Santa Monica Studio, details what went on behind the collaboration:

"When we designed Kratos' new Leviathan Axe, we knew it would have far more meaning not only to the game, but to our fans. Santa Monica Studios was extremely proud to adorn the custom PS4 Pro with the Leviathan Axe in such detailed fashion. We spent a painstaking amount of time to ensure this PS4 Pro was special, for the special fans who will cherish it. The top front panel is the Axe skill tree you'll use in-game to upgrade your axe, along with the runic gem slots on the handle that enable unique special abilities. The side panels are trimmed with a beautiful Norse design, and the runes on the front each represent a realm in the game. The Leviathan Grey DualShock 4 wireless controller has the Huldra Brothers brand on it (just like the Axe), and a very subtle God of War logo on the touchpad. I enjoyed every bit of the design process with Cory and the team, because we were united in our vision of what we wanted the custom PS4 Pro to embody. The game looks absolutely stunning on PS4 Pro and we can't wait to share a new beginning for God of War with you, when it launches on 20th April."

Pre-orders in Australia have started in select retailers, EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, The Gamesmen and the Sony Store at a recommended retail price of $659.95.
