Tokyo, Japan will be opening two major Pokemon attractions simultaneously this year: The Pokemon Cafe and The Pokemon Centre Tokyo DX. This is great news for overseas Pokemon fans who often miss out on a chance to try out the pop-up cafes and stores between trips.
Social media has introduced the world to Japan's pop culture-inspired cafes, with previous themes such as Sailor Moon, Super Mario Bros. and Hello Kitty making an appearance. For the first time, Tokyo will be opening its first permanent Pokemon themed cafe in the Takashimaya department store in Nihonbashi. The cafe will serve customers Pokemon themed food and drink, as well as a selection of souvenirs to purchase in memory of their visit.
Adding to the 11 other stores throughout Japan, the new Pokemon Centre Tokyo DX (Deluxe) will revive memories of the original Centre which also opened in Nihonbashi over two decades ago (from 1997 to 2007). The store will sell original store specific goods as well as hold fan events.
Grand Opening details:
Date: Wednesday, March 14, 2018
Address: Nihonbashi Takashimaya S. C. East Building, 5th Floor
The department store is about a five-minute walk from Nihonbashi Subway Station.
